Apple is in hot waters again. Just over 10 months ago, Apple was fined for slowing down old iPhones. Apple will pay $113 million to settle allegations that the company deliberately slowed down its older phone versions. 33 US states claimed and reported that Apple had done this to force its users into buying new model phones.
in 2016 Apple updated software on models (operating system) that slowed down the progress of iPhone 6,7 and SE.
This new deal is separate from the $500m class-action lawsuit that met a proposed settlement earlier in March.
According to BBC, Apple has declined to comment yet, the company previously said that the phones were slowed to preserve the aging battery life. Apple denies that the slowdown was for financial gain.
