Cross-platform posting, which enables Facebook users to post on Threads and Instagram at the same time, is being tested by Meta Platform.
The company acknowledged that it was testing the functionality, but it was only available for iOS apps and did not include EU users. Users will be able to share text posts to Threads from Facebook as well as link postings thanks to this capability. In addition to encouraging Facebook users to try out Threads, the integration makes publishing easy for content creators.
Threads user @whimchic (Ljiljana Grujicic) saw the function and tried it out on her profile. Nevertheless, there was no indication in the post that it was cross-posted or any information about the user’s Facebook account.
Users of Threads used to get upset when they found their postings were being automatically published on Facebook and Instagram without their consent. This prompted Meta to add a cross-share feature to their platform.
