Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos at a company event in New Delhi told that the eCommerce giant is investing $1 billion to empower and digitize small businesses in India.
Jeff told that the company is planning to export goods worth $10 billion by 2025 through the ‘Make in India‘ program.
This news comes just after the Competition Commission of India (CCI), started an investigation into anti-competitive practices of Amazon.
In India, Bezos will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Both have previously met in an event in Washington back in 2016. Jeff hinted that Amazon would invest over $5 billion in India in the coming years.
Last year, Amazon opened its largest campus in Hyderabad, India.
Meanwhile, Amazon is being criticized and there is protest as the members of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) are preparing to protest against Amazon in 300 cities.
