Apple has recently introduced its new Mac Mini Pro. It was unveiled on Tuesday in Brooklyn, New York at an event. The device comes in a sleek Space Grey enclosure and shows up to five times increased performance as compared to its predecessor that was released in 2014.
The new Mac Mini comes with various processor options which include quad-core as well as six-core 8th generation Intel Core Processors. It has a Turbo Boost which speeds it up to 4.6GHz. It has 64GB of 2,666MHz of RAM which is a big improvement as compared to the company’s previous devices.
The introduction of the device revealed that all the new Mac Mini models sport the flash storage which has the configuration up to 2TB. The storage that is being offered in the new device is 4 times faster than the previous Mac Mini drives so it definitely is a performance upgrade this time. Also, the Mac Mini pro supports Intel UHB graphics, Apple’s proprietary T2 chipset, Gigabit-compatible Ethernet. It has four Thunderbolt/USB-C ports, two standard USB-A ports, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
With the help of new port options, the Mac Mini will be able to output video in three formats. Also, the T2 Tip that has been featured in the recent MacBook Pro models and Apple’s iMac Pro Powerhouse comes with its own suite of capabilities. The device supports an SSD controller that helps with an on-the-fly data encryption. This will help the users to store on the Mac Mini’s all-flash SSD that can automatically be encrypted for security. The workflow performance is also enhanced by the T2 chip because it features HEVC video transcoding which is almost 30 times faster than the previous models.
Made out of 100% recycled aluminum alloy, the Space Grey enclosure matches the recent MacBook and iMac Pro devices. With the help of the Apple-designed alloy, it has the same strength, durability, and finishing as that of the other Apple’s devices although it’s a bit greener. Also, the new Mac Mini has a redesigned thermal system that helps with cooling and provides a double airflow which is perfect for most demanding tasks.
