People do not clearly know the potential of 5G. Truly, there’s a lot more to the 5G technology than just fast internet. 5G is huge and could reshape how we communicate, travel, and work.
Cellular networks and technology have come a long way in the last two decades. A few years back, EDGE and 3G networks seemed fast but as people got used to it, they seem to feel slow and then came LTE networks. They provided faster bandwidth, better voice quality and download speed.
Now, we are talking 5G, a network that would be the fastest the humans would have ever experienced. To put things in perspective, a full three hour HD movie can be downloaded in 10 minutes.
It will provide a different spectrum to how voice data transfers. The voice and picture clarity, the communication between cities, the self-driven cars and perhaps self-driven planes in the future using fast internet would be just one of few things to watch out for.
The possibilities are unlimited and so are the challenges which we will only get to know when 5G is widespread all across the globe and people begin to use it. Will it become an Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator movie series ‘Skynet’?. Only the time will reveal.
A 5G MacBook
The rumours are, Apple is coming up with a 5G MacBook. The laptop may have a cellular radio, a SIM card.
According to DigiTimes, Lenovo, HP, and Dell are also all set to debut their own 5G notebooks later this year. Apple is expected to have its first 5G MacBook by the year 2020.
According to a report by MacRumors, Apple has already finalized its integrated 5G MacBook design.
It will probably start shipping it next year. The machines are expected to have better power efficiency and higher speed than its rivals. We are not sure about the price though but one can fairly assess, 5G Mackbook will be little expensive than its previous models.
