Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz recently inaugurated the Chief Minister’s Youth Initiative ‘E-bike Programme,’ symbolically handing over the first E-bike to a college student from Jampur.

Introduction of Vehicle Inspection Regime and E-bike Phase 2

At the inaugural event, Nawawa Mobilizers Company was granted the first production license for e-loader rickshaws by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who also presented the Vehicle Inspection Regime for Private Vehicle Projects. She also announced the initiation of Phase 2 of the E-bike Project. This project includes plans to establish solar-powered charging stations in colleges and universities.

Accessibility and Empowerment for Students

To enhance accessibility, the Punjab government will cover Rs. 20,000 out of the Rs. 40,000 down payment for E-bikes, making them more accessible to students. Over 8,000 female students have applied. All eligible applicants receive E-bikes.

CM Maryam Nawaz underlined the dedication of the government to education. She announced laptops and a Rs. 25 billion scholarship program for needy students. She also highlighted efforts to make Punjab greener by transitioning to electric transport and acquiring environment-friendly buses.

During a meeting focused on digitalization, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of fast internet for expanding employment opportunities through e-commerce and freelancing. She advocated for equal implementation of digital technology projects in rural and urban areas, discussing initiatives like PTCL’s high-speed internet and plans to expand free Wi-Fi services.

On World Population Welfare Day, Maryam Nawaz underscored the need to balance population growth with available resources for sustainable prosperity. She highlighted the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry as a critical effort to record household data accurately.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz sent her condolences to the families of the deceased workers in the sad coal mine disaster in Chakwal, and she ordered a thorough investigation into the event.
