NEW! Facebook launches photo and video data transfer tool.
Soon, you will be able to transfer all your Facebook photos and videos to Google Photos (and other services to follow). The service is unveiled in Ireland first and will be made available globally early in 2020.
Announced at Facebook News Room, the blog post tells the reason why this service is introduced. The idea is to enable users to share data and move it to another.
Today, we’re releasing a tool that will enable Facebook users to transfer their Facebook photos and videos directly to other services, starting with Google Photos.
The company enabled people to download their information from Facebook almost 10 years ago.
Using Data Transfer Project, users will be able to access the tool from their Facebook settings. Facebook also claims that they’ve kept privacy and security as top priorities so all data transfer will be encrypted and people will be prompted to enter their password again before the data transfer is initiated.
