Facebook rolls out ‘Facial Recognition’ to avoid photos misuse

Facebook has more number of users than the number of cars on the road and planes in the sky. The world’s biggest and most popular social networking site has rolled out a feature that will protect the picture privacy of users.

People share their personal pictures on Facebook but sadly other people rip off the pictures and misuse it. This is the most common fear faced specially by female therefore they usually avoid posting their pictures online.

Today, Facebook has rolled out ‘Facial Recognition‘, a tool that informs you if your photos are being misused, uploaded by others on Facebook.

How does it work?

If someone uploads your picture on their profile and does not tag you. Facebook will recognize your face in the picture and notify you about the upload. You can then take appropriate action to take your picture down by reporting that profile and claiming picture ownership.

Alongside the notification of your picture uploaded on the Facebook, Audio will also be generated to give information about who is in the picture.
