Telegram gained an amazing three million new users when Facebook was down for 10 hours in most part of the world. All Facebook-owned companies, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp experienced significant outage worldwide.
This announcement was made by Telegram’s founder and CEO Pavel Durov on his personal Telegram channel.
Telegram is an end-to-end encrypted messaging system similar to WhatsApp that runs on users donations rather than targeted ads model used by its rival, Facebook
