At the Google I/O 2018, Google has unveiled an astonishing new AI that has surprised everyone about how far the technology has evolved. The amazing AI can make actual phone calls and interact with humans and the best part is, they won’t even find out if it is an AI or a human at the other end.
The feature is called Google Duplex. People who call will be able to ask for opening hours or make appointments in restaurants etc.
The Google Duplex technology is built to sound natural, to make the conversation experience comfortable. It’s important to us that users and businesses have a good experience with this service, and transparency is a key part of that. We want to be clear about the intent of the call so businesses understand the context. We’ll be experimenting with the right approach over the coming months.
