In a major move to boost Punjab’s education sector, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif introduced the ‘Honhaar Scholarship Program.’ This program aims to empower students through financial aid and equal access to quality education. The initiative reflects the government’s strong commitment to nurturing the province’s future generations.

The program, with a worth of Rs. 130 billion, was designed to support worthy students from all parts of the province. Scholarships were given to chosen students at the event, where the Chief Minister emphasized the government.

A new e-portal has been introduced to make the application process more straightforward for students. Through this platform, users can effortlessly submit their applications and monitor their progress. The program has grown quickly, with over 70,000 contributions so far. This year alone, it has provided scholarships to 30,000 students.

The program prioritizes inclusivity by ensuring that 32% of recipients come from South Punjab and 18,000 female students receive scholarships. It benefits students from 68 districts and 50 public universities and also supports 131 graduates in important fields of study.

The scholarships will cover all tuition expenses, providing substantial relief for families with a monthly income below Rs. 300,000. Students who meet academic requirements.
