WhatsApp ensures your privacy is protected with proxy servers. Messages remain end-to-end encrypted. Only the intended recipient can read your messages. The proxy servers, WhatsApp, and Meta cannot access them.
This move highlights WhatsApp’s dedication to offering a reliable communication service where internet disruptions create major problems. These outages are seen as violations of human rights, limiting access to essential support and information. WhatsApp aims to lessen the effects of these disruptions with its proxy feature, ensuring users can stay securely connected.
How to Use Proxy Servers
To use this feature, follow these steps:
For Android Users:
- Update WhatsApp to the latest version.
- Go to “more options” > “settings” on WhatsApp.
- Tap “Storage and Data,” then select “Proxy.”
- Toggle the “Use Proxy” switch.
- Enter the proxy address and tap “Set Proxy.”
- Hit “Save.”
A checkmark will show up to confirm the connection. If there are problems, you can delete the proxy address and try another one.
For iPhone Users:
- Update WhatsApp to the latest version.
- Open WhatsApp and go to “Settings.”
- Tap “Storage and Data,” then select “Proxy.”
- Toggle the “Use Proxy” switch.
- Enter the proxy address and tap “Save.”
A checkmark will confirm that the connection was successful.
Note that using a third-party proxy will share your IP address with the proxy provider. WhatsApp doesn’t provide third-party proxies, so users should be cautious.
