Joe Biden who served as the 47th vice president of the United States from 2009 to 2017 is running for the democratic nomination for President. In a deep ongoing debate about the power of technology giants, Biden says he is open to breaking up Facebook. Even though Biden thinks it is premature to make a final judgment, he endorses the idea of his rival Sen. Elizabeth Warren who is pressing on cracking down on Facebook and other tech giants. She is emphasizing on the need of regulating Silicon Valley’s most prominent companies.
Agreeing with Senator’s opinion, Biden says she has a very strong case to be made.
A recent focus on tech giants shows how Facebook is increasingly a point of debate in the campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Another Senator, Kamala Harris of California told CNN that she was open to revamping Facebook as the company is essentially a public utility.
In an attempt to curb fake news and keep a check on fake accounts, Facebook has taken a preliminary step on 14th May already, many accounts, pages have been suspended, disabled to avoid spreading false news.
