Ever since LinkedIn was acquired for $26.2 billion by Microsoft in 2016, the company has made some significant changes in last few years. The business social network now has over 580 million users and is actively used in over 200 countries.
The company realizes that video is the fastest-growing format on its platform alongside original written work, shared news and other content. LinkedIn is introducing live videos now, that will give people and organizations the ability to broadcast real-time video to the selected groups.
LinkedIn long term plan is to cover world’s conferences, product announcements, Q&As and other events led by influencers and highly followed people.
“Video is the fastest growing format on our platform right now, and the one most likely to get people talking,” said Pete Davies, the director of product management at LinkedIn.
