Mark Zuckerberg Is Going To Integrate WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger

SAN FRANCISCO — Facebook’s chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg now plans to integrate the Facebook owned messaging services — WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger. The move comes at a time when Facebook has been surrounded by scandals. Mark wants to assert his control over the company’s widespread, untidy divisions.

The move would require thousands of Facebook employees to reconfigure how WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger function at basic levels. Although all three Apps will continue working as stand-alone services, their underlying messaging infrastructure will be inter connected. Facebook is still in the early stages of the work and plans to complete the integration of all three services by the end of this year or early next year.

Mark Zuckerberg also wants all three apps to incorporate end-to-end encryption. This will protect the messages from being viewed by anyone except the participants in the chats. Once integrated, a Facebook user could send an encrypted message to someone who has only a WhatsApp account or Instagram. In current scenario, this is not possible as all Apps are separate and not inter-linked

The purpose of connecting the Apps is simple, Zuckerberg wants to increase the usage of Facebook, keeping its billions of users highly engaged with the company services.

This move will give tough competition to Facebook rivals such as Apple and Google.
