Coronavirus pandemic repossession for the second wave continues to hit the US economy and the rest of the world. The market in the US took a hit on Monday, resulting in 10 rich people with deep pockets losing around $14 billion in a single day, Forbes reports.
Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 659 points on Monday, Nasdaq composite was down by 1.6%. The drop is a direct result of a spike in COVID-19 new cases. Because of the delay in the second stimulus plan that does not seem to be coming before December things are looking shady for most US businesses.
It was not a good Monday for many individuals, the single-day loss impacted Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, he lost $2.8 billion in one day.
Also on the list is Bill Gates, losing $1.7 billion. His net worth is still over $115 billion according to Forbes.
Other billionaires on the list include Elon Musk and Warren Buffett who took the hit as well. This may come as a surprise but Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos actually added to his fortune on Monday and saw an increase in his wealth, Forbes reports.
