According to a new study conducted by the University of Oxford, it is found that for men, going out and spending time with their friends, laugh, is pretty downright essential.
In fact, as per this report, men should go out twice a week and meet their friends in order to stay healthy and avoid health issues.
The study was conducted by Robin Dunbar, a psychologist, and director of Oxford University’s social and evolutionary neuroscience research group. The study established the fact that men must physically meet with four friends, twice a week. It increases their happiness hormones and reduces cortisol, a hormone of stress by 30%.
The research looked at the benefits of strong male friendships and established a strong reason for a better immune system, the release of endorphins, an overall decrease in anxiety levels and longer life.
“Bonds can be formed by playing sports — or simply spending time with your pals over the weekend,” Dunbar said.
Dunbar suggests that despite spending 20% (1/5th) of their day interacting through other means, men need to meet each other in person to keep their friendships strong. The results are positive and they are better able to work and perform their day to day duties as their mood gets better.
Hey ladies, it’s an opportunity to have few hours off from your man. Allow them to go out and enjoy with their friends. This affects their health and mood positively.
