Microsoft has been making efforts to streamline its plans from many weeks. This is something that is expected to reorganize the sales team which will impact thousands of workers at the company which can range from 3,000 to 5,000. The reports indicate that around three-quarters of the cuts will be taking place outside the U.S. Microsoft, for now, has not cited any specific of the layoffs. But the company has begun the process about job losses from now on.
According to the company’s spokesperson, the basic aim of Microsoft is to implement changes that bring an improvement to the customers and partners. It was also stated that the company is taking steps to notify some of the workers that their job is under consideration or their positions are expected to be eliminated. This is similar to how all companies evaluate their business on regular basis. This is something that may increase investment in some areas while it may cause job losses in some fields.
As part of the restructuring, the layoffs are expected to begin from now on. The new approach is expected to target the small and medium business clients along with other enterprises. This reorganization is taking place with the end of the company’s fiscal year. This is the time which is typically known by the company for making big changes to the headcounts. This is something that will focus the company’s resources towards the right customers. No details have been given by the Microsoft for the layoffs except stating to it as a planned move towards a more customized approach to the sales of Azure.
