A very interesting portrait was received by the crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The portrait was conceptualized by the director of the Galadari Brothers, Muhammad Abdullatif Galadari. It was made up of shredded pieces of banknotes worth Dh 1 million. As soon as it got posted on social media by Sheikh Muhammad, the post went viral getting 10,000 within an hour.
The video posted by Khaleej Times showed how the portrait was precisely created and was amazed to see the shredded pieces of banknotes being turned into a masterpiece in order to pay tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan AI Nahyan who pioneered sustainability in the country.
According to Galadari, he received one million dirhams last year in the form of shredded notes and he thought of creating a portrait. But the shreds of banknotes were extremely small and the larger pieces were no longer bigger than 0.5 cm. the colors of the notes were also limited to the shades of red, blue, orange, and brown for Dh100, Dh200, Dh500, and Dh1,000 notes. For Galadari, it was a challenge to do that which he accepted and sorted out thousands of shreds over days. He identified the colors and patterns to start his work on the portrait which made him struggle a lot during the initial days.
With the help of a pair of tweezers, Galadari placed different colored shred and glued them on the right place. Emad was not sure that he would be able to come up with the artwork but he continued his work because he the inspiration to end the project. The final project that came alive was a masterpiece of Sheikh Zayed. After completing the project he was not sure whether he will be able to meet the son of the UAEs founding father but on Monday, he came face-to-face with the royal highness where he presented Sheikh Muhammad the 50cm×70cm objet d’art made out of Dh 1 million banknotes.
He was stunned at the modesty ofSheikh Muhamad when he saw him driving his own car and parking it himself. According to Emad, Sheikh Muhammad asked him about the place he grew up and showed interest in him which indicated his quality of being a great leader. For him, meeting Sheikh Muhammad was a great fulfillment, an honor, and was privileged to present him with the portrait of the country’s founding father.
