Hearing news about the talent brain drain in Pakistan. Well, this is alarming. As the data obtained from the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, 127400 Pakistanis have left the country up to February during the first two months of 2023 for better economic prospects abroad.
The statistics show that 52,398 were laborers while 29,989 were drivers who left the country in January and February. Â As well as 1396 engineers, 1257 accountants, and 549 doctors, 241 teachers also left the country.
The total number of migrants who migrated from Pakistan consisted of 61,321 to Saudi Arabia, 27,501 to the United Arab Emirates, 13,700 to Qatar, and 11,060 to Oman. The data reported by the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment pertain to people who have registered with the Bureau.
This list does not include people who move abroad for study or through other routes such as direct immigration. Throughout the Bureau’s existence, more than 10 million emigrants have found overseas employment duly registered with the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment.
Previously. there were 946,571 Pakistanis who went abroad for employment in 2015.
