At the WWDC 2017, Apple officially declared a support for external graphics enclosures. This includes a list of devices that enable users to attach dedicated graphics card to their computer by using a Thunderbolt 3 port.
Moreover, Apple is expected to release its own external graphics enclosure. This will be in the form of a developer kit along with AMD Radeon 580. This announcement has been made as part of the company’s unveiling of Metal 2 which is its latest graphics software standard. This is an important change for the company.
The users will be able to add existing external graphics enclosures to the Mac for a period of time. Apple’s latest move is paving the way for virtual reality development. and seems to be a promising start for bringing the MAC platform up to the speed for the VR community but still there is a lot more to be dome.
