When it comes to social media, the U.S. President Donald Trump is a regular critic and his criticism recently echoed another attack on Twitter. He accused the America’s tech giants of being biased in favor of the opposition Democrats. He took a swipe on Tuesday where he claimed that Twitter is making it more difficult to follow his account.
President Trump Tweeted that “Facebook, Twitter, and Google are so biased towards the Dems it is ridiculous. In fact, Twitter has made it more difficult for people to join @realDonaldTrump. They have removed many names and greatly slowed the level and speed of increase. They have acknowledged-done Nothing!”

On Monday, an analysis conducted for the Senate Intelligence Committee described and organized the campaign to hurt Hillary Clinton, by the St Petersburg-based Internet Research Agency. Blacktivist is the account created by the IRA which sent out messages as no lives matter to Hillary Clinton, only votes matter to Hillary Clinton. A portion of the 3,841 IRA accounts on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube that was studied by the researchers wanted to provoke the Republican-leaning white Americans to go out and to cast a vote.
The Washington Post reported that when President Trump took the office, Moscow’s operatives aim at Special Counsel Robert Muller who is the head of investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and the possible collusion between Trump’s campaign and Moscow.
Trump accused Twitter for stifling the growth of his account and made it harder for users to follow him but the tech giant denied the charges of political bias. Many analysts have pointed to large social media followings of the conservatives including President Donald Trump. In an emailed statement, Twitter explained that it has been working to weed out the accounts that hide a user’s true identity or are intended towards manipulating the platform.
The tech giant further stated that its focus is on health of the service which includes the work to remove the fake accounts in order to prevent the malicious behavior.
In October, the marketing software firm SparkToro revealed that the analysis of its 55 million-plus followers have revealed that more than 60 per cent of the accounts were fake. Around three-quarters of accounts that followed Trump, had been inactive for about 120 days and Twitters default profile image is being used by the 36 per cent.
