Instagram stories feature is not only new thing coming to WhatsApp. World’s most commonly used instant chat/video service is testing another feature specifically for the users involved in many group chats.
The new feature is called ‘Dismiss As Admin‘ and it will allow one group administrator to dismiss another without removing them from the group. Before this feature, one had to be removed from the group and added again in order to give back their group admin features.
As of now only group admins were allowed to add participants to an existing chat and only group admin could remove people from the chats. The feature is un-earthed by WaBetaInfo (@wabetainfo), a Twitter account that keeps a close eye on WhatsApp upcoming features and improvements.
‘Dismiss As Admin’ is introduced for Android users but it is reported that the next iOS update will also have this new feature. Another new feature WhatsApp seems to be testing is an ability to message a group member directly inside a group. Right now, one has to click on a participant name and then message them separately outside the group window.
