WhatsApp video calling feature is now available on Android, reports Android Police. The test beta version is available on 2.16.318 (451462) on Android phones only.
Making video calls is very simple. Pick a contact, tap the call button and select ‘Video call’. If both callers have same version that supports video call the call works exactly like Facetime or Viber video call. If the other user does not have updated version, it will notify you.
Call quality seems to be good and it will improve further as WhatsApp rolls this feature out to everyone. The feature comes at a very interesting time, Google recently announced DUO. With more than a billion users WhatsApp is all set to take a competitive advantage and grab more users.
There is no report about iOS version as of yet.
