According to The Wall Street Journal, new details of tension between Facebook and its biggest acquisition WhatsApp have surfaced. The Wall Street Journal reports that WhatsApp co-founders Brian Acton and Jan Koum gave up $900 million and $400 million, respectively by leaving parent company Facebook before they were even eligible for stock awards.
Both Co founders decided to leave the company after increasing pressure on them to monetize WhatsApp and include advertisement. Both Acton and Koum have always been vocal on enhancing user experience and not including any advertisement in the world’s largest messaging app.

After the tension mounted between them and Facebook on petty issues such as Furniture, Desk sizes, bathroom designs, they decided to leave the company and gave up $1.3 billion, before they were eligible for stock awards.
