ISLAMABAD: The Facebook, WhatsApp, and Messenger structures are owned through Meta, which announced on Wednesday that it had partnered with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to empower 500 Pakistani women entrepreneurs and small businesses.
In 2018, Meta started its “She Means Business” program in Pakistan to help women-owned businesses enter the digital economy by giving them skills training and business ideas. The initiative claims to have provided training to more than 9,000 Pakistani women entrepreneurs since 2018.
The announcement was made during the event’s inauguration ceremony: The Advanced Extension: this week in Karachi, “Advancing Financial Inclusion for Pakistan.” The occasion was gone to by authorities of the Service of Trade, Ladies Offices of Business and Industry, and other noticeable individuals from the telecom, banking, and business local area. At the event, it was announced that She Means Business would begin its second phase.
According to a press release issued by Meta, Sima Kamil, SBP deputy governor, stated, “Small businesses play a crucial role to boost the country’s economy.”
“We are pleased to support Meta’s effort to assist Pakistani women entrepreneurs and small businesses in scaling up and empowering more women. We anticipate that the information they acquire will also assist them in entering export markets.”
The director of policy programs at Meta, Beth Ann Lim, stated that Meta would enhance the digital skills of small business owners, particularly women, and assist them in developing revenue streams.
Thoughts consultancy firm Demo will choose the new members of the program from Pakistan’s product-situated chambers and the pool of entrepreneurs that partook in the principal period of the She Means Business educational plan in Pakistan.
Meta stated that it would provide ad credits on Facebook to assist participants in bolstering their presence by reaching target customers both locally and globally. Dial Zero, Meta’s related income associate in the country, will provide advanced education on export marketing to one hundred participants.
