Instagram DM for web rolls out starting 10 AM EST. All accounts will gradually see the feature on the web.
The Facebook-owned company, Instagram is making it easier for people to send and receive direct messages from the browser. The announcement was made on Friday. Instagram has been testing DMs with a relatively small group since January and after successful testing, all web users will be given access to this amazing feature soon.
Many people prefer using computers as they spend most of their time working there. WhatsApp for web has already gained a lot of popularity recently. Facebook understands the importance of rolling out mobile features for the web so people can easily interact without needing to pick their smartphone for performing basic tasks and accessing common features.
Mark Zuckerberg told The New York Times last year that private messages and stories are the three fastest-growing areas of online communication. The new Instagram feature supports Facebook CEO broader vision for easy of accessing features on the web.
In an attempt to link WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook to allow people to send messages to the user of other platforms without actually opening that app, allowing DM on Instagram could well be one of the lists of long features we could expect as this is something Facebook CEO spoke about last year.
