Twitter has finally announced a new API price after a long time. Which will have a significant impact on researchers, developers & businesses. Twitter has divided its pricing strategy into three tiers. Which are free, basic, and enterprise subscription. The basic tier has more features than free tire & enterprise tire will provide higher access to businesses. But the functionality of this new structure is limited.
Free API:
The first user of this tier is completely free & a user can post up to 1,500 tweets in a month and cannot access the other functionality. This tier will focus on bots & testing purposes.
Basic API:
The second use of this tier will go with basic pricing which is 200$. Tweets can be posted by developers at the user level up to 3,000 per month and at the app level up to 50,000 per month. There is a limit of 10,000 requests to read Tweets on Twitter. These are only Tweets that have been posted recently.
Enterprise API:
Third-tier pricing and limitations for commercial projects and businesses still need to be determined. According to the company, access to this category is sufficient to meet the needs of the business and its customers. Online reports show the price tag of enterprise API is 42,000 but Twitter doesn’t announce its price on the website yet. It is still necessary for Twitter to clarify access for researchers or academics who use this platform.
