Huawei Pakistan Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ethan Sun met with Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja at her office on Thursday. During the meeting, they discussed topics including digitalization, IT & Telecom infrastructure, and skills development.
The minister highlighted that the government is implementing effective measures to promote Information and Communications Technology (ICT) nationwide. She mentioned that, in line with the prime minister’s vision, youth receive information technology training. The minister called for Huawei to support government employees with training and to help instructors and students in schools, colleges, and institutions acquire digital skills.
Furthermore, the minister conveyed the government’s intention for Huawei to assist in the establishment of a single point of contact for business registration and expedited citizen service delivery. She underlined the prime minister’s concern for the security of Chinese people employed in Pakistan and urged Huawei to help build safe cities there. They also talked about the start of an intelligent healthcare initiative for residents of isolated locations, especially in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Huawei is dedicated to contributing significantly to the advancement of ICT and the digital economy in Pakistan, according to Ethan Sun.
