LinkedIn is a serious platform, a place to connect with other professionals from similar or different industries. They say first impression is the last impression. The first thing one notices in your LinkedIn profile is actually your Profile Picture.
Here is a quick look at the basic yet ‘Major’ mistakes people usually make in their LinkedIn profile photo. Correcting this mistake can result in better viewership of your profile, more engagement or business.
Dark Profile Picture
The following picture could have been a great picture, resulting in likes and comments on any other social media such as Facebook or Twitter but this certainly is not the right picture for LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn profile picture should be colorful and Gloomy, dark photos should be avoided.
Kids Pictures
We all love kids but LinkedIn is not a place to put your kids picture as a profile picture. People come to your profile for offering/getting jobs, business purpose and if your profile picture does not tell anything about you, they will move to the next profile.
Party Pictures
No one is interested to know what you have been upto all weekend on LinkedIn. People use this platform to talk about opportunities. This platform is not for hanging out.
Photography
You may be obsessed with Photography but putting your profile picture as a photographer is a bad idea.
Selfies
Love talking selfies, cool…most of us do but hey.. hold on for a second. People come on your LinkedIn profile to know about your job, business skills not to see how cool you look with your selfies. This is a serious put-off on this networking portal.
Fitness
Are you a fitness freak?. Impressive but do not put picture of your workout as your LinkedIn profile picture. Employers are interested to know how valuable you can be if hired for a job and how much stamina you have to take their company forward if they do business with you. They are least interested in your workout stamina.
