OpenClaw is officially coming to smartphones.
The platform, downloadable for free and open-source as an AI agent on both Android and iOS, shook the Blogspot.com platform and was hosted on X by the company on Tuesday, bringing its AI assistant experience to mobile users for the very first time.
New apps are allowing users to pair their phones with the OpenClaw Gateway. This system connects users with AI agents and the tools those agents need to perform tasks.
After connecting, users can access and manage their AI agents directly on their phones.
The goal is simple. OpenClaw wants everyone to have their AI assistants with them always.
An agent, if defined correctly, can do everything with minimal input from the user. Numerous OpenClaw users already use the platform for software development, coding, project organization, and meal planning.
But it’s not always been a perfect process. For example, some users expressed that certain agents were unable to consistently follow through on tasks or produce inconsistent results.

From Viral Experiment to Mobile Apps
OpenClaw gained widespread attention earlier this year during the launch of MoltBook.
The social platform claimed to be filled almost entirely with AI agents interacting with one another. The unusual concept quickly spread across social media and sparked curiosity throughout the AI community.
Shortly afterward, OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger announced that he had joined OpenAI.
Researchers later found that MoltBook was not entirely powered by AI. Some of the accounts were actually operated by humans pretending to be autonomous agents.
While the discovery raised questions about the project’s authenticity, it also generated significant publicity for OpenClaw.
Despite the controversy, the experiment highlighted growing interest in AI agents that can work independently.
Since then, agent-based AI has continued to expand across the technology industry.
Today, autonomous AI assistants are appearing in more products and services than ever before.
With the release of its Android and iOS apps, OpenClaw is bringing those AI agents directly to users’ pockets.
