It has been a year since Google introduced its first smartphone and billed it as the best smartphone of Android. After one year, Google has again geared up to release the next generation of its smartphone, the Pixel 2. Google will be featuring its products at its launch event. The event is also meant to release the latest version of Google Home which is a strong competitor of Amazon’s latest Echo Dot. Along with its smartphone, Google is also expected to launch some of its newly released VR technologies.
Following is the list of the products that are being released at Google’s launch event:
Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL:
Google’s new pixels are going to be the biggest thing in the event. Both Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL phones are expected to deliver almost same specs. It’s just that Pixel 2 will have a larger bezel and an FHD screen instead of a QHD screen. The Pixel 2 XL, however, will have a wider QHD screen. The device’s both front and back cameras are equipped with the optical image stabilization. The smartphone is expected to have IP67 resistivity for dust and water along with a Gorilla Glass 5 Display.

The cameras for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are also expected to be equipped with cameras that compete with the cameras of the newly released iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
The Pixel 2 is given an overall score of 98 by DxOMark, the highest score of any smartphone camera in the market today.
LUXE Chromebook:
Google also plans to release its new Chromebook this year with a price tag of $1,000. As Google’s last Chromebook failed to attain much attention so there is a possibility that this time also, it does not become a top seller. However, the expected Chromebook is going to have a flip design along with a stylus. It will be sold separately for $100 and the Chrome OS will be the default OS of the device.
Google Home:
The leaked rumors reveal that Google is also going to be launching a mini version of its Google Home costing around $50. The company will launch a premium version as well which will be better than the mini one. It will host some new features as well as better functionalities and updates.
One thing Google must focus on is to improve its hardware along with the sound quality when it comes to its voice assistant. With so many competitors entering the market for digital assistants, it seems that Google will have to struggle hard.
