Facebook and Instagram users in some parts of United States, Canada, Middle East and Asia were unable to access their accounts on Wednesday because of technical issues. Some users were able to login but were unable to log out, even the drop down menu which shows activity log, settings and pages was not opening therefore users logged in to public computers had to face a lot of problem in signing out of their accounts.
“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing Facebook and Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,” a Facebook spokesperson told Reuters.
Reports came in regarding the accessibility problems on major functions of Facebook and Instagram. According to theverge.com, there have been 12,000 reports of Facebook problems on the downdetector website. Instagram, also owned by Facebook had 2,500 reports of problems
UPDATE: Facebook says that the problem is now fixed.
