16 days of no education, deserted class rooms and teachers in frustration worrying about the future of the students who took admission in the university only to study and with a hope of successfully graduating one day. Quaid-i-Azam University, the only Pakistani university in Top 500 World Ranking has been in mist of severe crisis for over 2 weeks.
Thankfully, the university reopened in Islamabad on Friday after 16 days of strike. Successful negotiations took place between the administrations and protesting students.
QAU students went on strike on October 4 demanding that all the students who were expelled due to their involvement in a fight months back should be restored.
The students also demanded, protested about revising fee structure, demanded availability of more University buses and new hostels.
Students also demanded to remove the Vice Chancellor Dr Javed Ashraf, accusing him of administrative irregularities in the University.
It is learned that QAU has reduced the fees by 10% . Also the Vice Chancellor has instructed for a syndicate meeting to decide the fate of expelled students.
