If you are a Blackberry or Windows 8 phone user, you may want to switch to Android or iOS because WhatsApp has decided to discontinue its support and updates for these two platforms.
WhatsApp has declared December 31 as a cut-off point but that does not mean the app will stop working on your phones in new year. It simply means, you will not get future updates or any kind of support as WhatsApp considers these two platforms ‘less popular’. The chances of App crashing in the near future will be high as there won’t be upgrades in it.
“These platforms don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future,” explains According to WhatsApp support. “If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer OS version.”
If you were looking to jump to higher end mobile phones, well – you have got a reason now.
