According to Qatar’s foreign ministry, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar have restored diplomatic ties and reopened their embassies in the respective capitals.
The Gulf Conflict started in June 2017 when Arab nations including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Bahrain broke diplomatic ties with Qatar.
The Muslim Brotherhood is an extreme group that the four nations accused Qatar of backing in Egypt, along with having business links to Iran.
The foreign ministers of both nations, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed spoke on the phone while both nations reopened their embassies, according to a statement released by the Qatari ministry on Monday.
Al Jazeera, Al Jazeera English, New Arab, Qatar News Agency, and a number of other Qatari news websites were unblocked by the UAE in March of this year.
