More consumers are selecting AI-powered PCs over conventional computers, thus becoming the new norm. Almost all of the PCs sold had AI capabilities, with over 15.4 Million shipping in the last quarter of 2024 overnight.
The statistics show that more and more individuals are selecting them over conventional PCs. More than 15.4 million AI-capable PCs were supplied in the last quarter of 2024, or roughly one out of every four PCs sold, based on the most recent figures from Canalys. Apple led the market with 54% of all PCs having built-in AI for the full year, being followed by Lenovo & HP having 12% apiece.
AI PCs: The Future
These aren’t your typical PCs and laptops. Special processors found in powered AI PCs accelerate processes, extend the lifespan of batteries, and add clever capabilities like real-time editing instruments and voice assistants. Millions of users will need to update as Windows 10 maintenance soon ends, which means revenues of AI PCs are projected to increase substantially in 2025.
The tech giants have already begun preparing for this change. AMD targets both luxury and mid-range consumers, whereas Intel concentrates on high-end versions via its Lunar Lake CPUs. Apple is lowering the cost of its older Macs in an effort to draw in even more clients, particularly in emerging economies, while Qualcomm is lowering the cost of laptops with AI.
However, there is one obstacle: growing costs. Demand for laptops may be slowed by proposed United States tariffs on Chinese imports, particularly in the largest PC market around the entire globe.

AI PCs & the Upgrade Push
Organizations with everyday consumers are being pushed to upgrade as a result of Microsoft’s plan to discontinue assistance with Windows 10. Although many are anticipated to move in late 2025, the market may be shaken if trade tensions persist.
Brands including Lenovo, Dell, HP, and Asus showcased new AI-powered capabilities at CES 2025 that are intended to increase efficiency. Additionally, Apple is introducing AI-powered tools for iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Although it may not yet be the primary factor in computer purchases, artificial intelligence has already become a necessary component.
