During the 4th annual meeting for the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), which took place in Jordan beside the Dead Sea, Pakistanis confirmed its dedication to digital transformation.
The Pakistani squad, led by Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunications, participated in higher level talks aimed at advancing the nation’s technological strategy.
Minister Shaza Khawaja made the announcement at the ceremony that Pakistan would hold its initial Digital Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Summit in Islamabad from April 29 to 30, 2025. The conference, which is being co-organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF), the DCO, and the authorities of Pakistan, intends to draw in international technology executives as well as investors to investigate prospects in Pakistan’s emerging digital economy.

Mehwish Salman Ali, the owner and CEO of Data Vault, represented Pakistan on the “Connecting AI Startups” panel during the International Digital Cooperation Forum (IDCF), a significant event held under the DCO General Assembly’s umbrella. She presented plans for the nation’s first AI Innovation Center and emphasized Pakistan’s position as an international hub for top-tier AI expertise. Under the direction of Data Vault, this center seeks to promote innovation, expedite AI companies, and incorporate Pakistani artificial intelligence solutions into the international market.
Engagements and partnerships
Mehwish Salman Ali participated in high-level conversations to strengthen Pakistan’s digital partnerships on the fringes of the manufacturing:
- Meeting with Elm: Possible partnerships in artificial intelligence and digital safety were the main topic of conversation alongside Hakeem AbdulAziz Alrasheed, the managing director of Elm, the top technological business in Saudi Arabia.
- Discussion with Fit4 Internet: Discussions with Fit4 Internet Executive Director Mag. Ulrike Domany-Funtan focused on safety & based on artificial intelligence educational programs.
- Bilateral Discussions with Portugal: Discussions with Portugal’s Minister of State for Modernization and Digitalization, Alberto Rodrigues da Silva, focused on collaboration in AI advancement, research, and development.
- Oman Invitation: A request to open a Data Vault branch in Oman with the goal of creating Artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for local and global markets was sent by Dr. Ali bin Amer al Shidhani, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation, Communications, and Information Technologies.
The Digital Revolution Vision of Pakistan
Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted the recent approval of the National Digital Pakistan Act, that seeks to modernize business, administration, & society as a whole as proof of Pakistan’s commitment to digital transformation. She said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has established the National Digital Commission to regulate the growth of the digital economy and encourage technical investments in Pakistan.
These changes highlight Pakistan’s aggressive strategy for joining the worldwide digital economy and cultivating cross-border alliances to promote technical progress.
