IT Minister Highlights AI’s Role in Innovation at LEAP 2025

During the Data Protection Officer Cabinet Session at LEAP 2025, Pakistan’s Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, underlined the importance of data security, online accessibility, and responsible artificial intelligence management. Organized by H.E. Deemah Al Yahya, Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), the panel, entitled “Creating the Next Generation of Ethics AI: International Reflections on Administration and Risks Administration,” brought together world leaders to talk about the moral use of AI.

Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized the revolutionary potential of AI throughout the conversation and called for robust laws and regulations and international collaboration to guarantee AI’s advantages to all facets of humanity. She called for international cooperation to create ethical artificial intelligence governance structures that forbid discrimination and provide equal access to digital possibilities, emphasizing the significance of information security, confidentiality, and justice in AI systems. 

Minister Shaza also underlined the need of implementing policies that are inclusive & initiatives to build capacity in order to close the digital gap, especially in poor countries. She promoted AI as a vehicle for empowering society, making sure that its advantages go past revenue growth to build a more just virtual society.

 

Minister Shaza addressed environment and responsibility, emphasizing the need to reduce AI’s carbon imprint and calling for ecologically responsible AI development. She underlined Pakistan’s dedication to responsibility and openness in online platforms and promoted a global regulatory structure that guarantees the implementation of AI in a moral way while encouraging innovation. Talking on the country’s AI plan, Minister Shaza emphasized the nation’s commitment to creating an all-encompassing AI policy that gives equal weight to ethical and scientific growth. She underlined that Pakistan wants to use AI to improve infrastructure, spur economic expansion, and create a long-lasting digital ecosystem.

 

In her final words, Shaza urged greater international collaboration to create an AI-powered future that is accountable, transparent, and equitable. In order to create international ethical artificial intelligence frameworks that support equilibrium, creativity, and sustained advancement, she urged organizations, governments, and industry leadership to collaborate.
