Flipkart is one of the india’s largest online retailer website which was valued around $11.6 billion in April 2017. According to local media report, a 26-year-old software engineer from Pavel named Tabrej Mehaboob Nagrali from India ordered an iPhone 8 and instead, got the bar of laundry detergent shipped to his address as can be seen from the featured image above.
Nagrali, ordered an iPhone 8 from Flipkart and paid 55000 rupees which is around $860 but when the package was delivered on 22nd January, he was surprised to see a bar of wheel detergent instead of a phone.
Nagrali has already filed a complaint against the firm in a local police station.
“Nagrali approached us with a complaint yesterday, and an offense of cheating was registered against Flipkart,” Avinash Shingte, a senior inspector at the Byculla police station.
As funny as it sounds, this is not the first time this famous online retailer has done this. Previously, it also shipped household cleaning product rather than a smartphone that was ordered online by a guy called Anand Bhalakia. Incident was reported by Hindustan Times in June 2016.
According to a spokesperson at Flipkart, the company is investigating the matter and will resolve it at the earliest.
