Instagram has now officially announced that it validates such a feature, after a post by app sleuth Alessandro Paluzzi last month.

According to Meta, the purpose of the experiment is to help raise the standards of the comments area.

A representative for the company stated, “We’re developing methods that can assist users control the Instagram experiences as well as what they’re seeing on the app.” “On a Reel or Feed post, we’re currently evaluating a new icon next to every reply which enables users to anonymously express whether they think the remark interesting or unsatisfactory. To begin, we’ll be conducting this on a very tiny number of folks. In order to enhance the user expertise, we might consider moving these observations farther below in the section for comments later on,” they added.
