Good news for Apple Watch fans: the Apple Watch Series 10 could have the same large screen as the 49mm Apple Watch Ultra. This new watch might also be thinner and have a new chip that could support future AI features. This information comes from Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter for Bloomberg.
A CAD design from last month showed a Series 10 watch with a two-inch display. Gurman and the design suggest that there won’t be any major design changes otherwise. If true, it means no new magnetic watch strap attachments, which is good for those of us with many watch straps we want to keep using.

Regarding new sensors, things are less clear. Apple is having trouble with two big health sensor updates. The company hasn’t been able to make its blood pressure monitor reliable enough, and not using its banned blood oxygen sensor is making it hard to add sleep apnea detection.
To compete with Samsung’s $199 Galaxy Watch FE, Apple is also preparing a less expensive Apple Watch SE. Using a solid plastic enclosure is one method of saving costs. This could make the watch cheaper and lighter, which might benefit other Apple products too, like the Vision Pro.
Finally, Gurman says Apple is working on a Watch Ultra 3, but don’t expect big visual changes. It will get the new chip that powers the Series 10, though.
