The YouTube Mini Games Are Now Available to Everyone

Playables were made available by YouTube Premium last year, allowing users to play arcade games on the platform without needing to download an additional app. Now that the feature is accessible to all YouTube users, Google joins the increasing number of businesses that are pursuing gaming-related projects.

YouTube Playables can be accessed on desktop and mobile devices (iOS/Android) through the sidebar menu on the upper left corner of the screen. However, since the update isn’t yet available everywhere, some users might have to wait a little while longer.

There are currently 75 titles available on Playables, and YouTube will record your progress and high scores in each game. Notable mobile games like Angry Birds Showdown!, Cut the Rope, and Trivia Crack are among the well-liked titles. Puzzle games and variations on the game of chess are also available.
When YouTube Playables first launched in late 2023, there weren’t many games available, and the Programme only ran for a brief period of time before ending in March of this year.

The practice of releasing games across various platforms has become increasingly popular among tech companies. While Netflix and other well-known brands have had gaming on their websites for some time, LinkedIn just recently added it. There are even rumours that Netflix intends to produce AAA games in the future.

Unexpected businesses that have included games into their regular offerings include Hearst Publications and The New York Times. Google, the company that created YouTube, also unveiled a project called Google Stadia, but it was shelved along with hundreds of other Google projects.
