Dr Matloob Khushi completed his education in Pakistan and left for UK in 2005 before eventually coming to Australia in 2006. Doctor Matloob received his PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Sydney for developing software tools that help in investigating the importance of overlapping transcription factor genomics interactions.

He is working on developing novel algorithms to interpret complex biological data and has developed tools that will help in detection of Cancer at a very early stage.
“Scientists all over the world are using this tool, and while it is too soon to tell what the overall feedback is, we are expecting that this development will save years worth of work,” he tells SBS.
