Barring people of seven Muslim-majority nations to enter US, Trump’s signed orders have created havoc among many countries. Donald Trump’s immigration order is not very well received by the leading companies. Among the protests of all the leading tech giants in Silicon Valley, automakers were silent on the issue up till now. Recently Ford CEO Mark Fields and the executive Chairman Bill Ford have released a statement in this regard. The statement has been shared with company’s employees as well as with the press.
It states that for Ford Motor Company, respect of all people is valued. The company is proud of the rich diversity of the company at home and around the globe. The company does not support Trump’s policy or anything that goes against its values. Ford is not aware of the fact if any of the employees have been directly affected with this policy. The company however will continue the well-being of its employees and will promote the values of respect and inclusion in the workplace.
Both Fields and Executive Chairman Ford have been very supportive of Trump previously and such statement from the leading automaker can bring a halt to his strategies. Field has met with Trump on a number of occasions as he is the member of president’s manufacturing council. The protest of automaker companies can be helpful for sufferers of the policy as Trump is very much accessible to automotive company executives.
