This cessation of the social networking sites is due to the Parliament members’ detention. These 11 members belong to the pro-Kurdish Democratic Party (HDP) in the Kurdish Southeast.

After the failed coup in July of removing the right-wing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan from power, the opposition politicians have informed that the nation’s authoritarian leader is aiming for a slow-motion counter-coup which will restrict the government as well as circumventing democracy.
