WhatsApp is introducing a new feature called “chat filter” to enhance the desktop user experience by providing better organization of chats based on user preferences.
According to WABetaInfo, the instant messaging platform has rolled out a feature allowing users to categorize their chats by selecting preferred filters. While currently available to a limited group of beta testers, the feature is expected to be released to the public soon.
The report highlights adding a new row at the top of the chat list page to assist users in organizing their discussions. Notably, participants in the official web client beta program can already access this function, offering them special capabilities.
This feature introduces various filters to simplify the management and arrangement of WhatsApp Web conversations. The top row on the chat list screen includes practical filters such as “Unread,” “Contacts,” and “Groups,” enabling users to access specific chat categories quickly.
