Details About the Feature

According to WABetaInfo, Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company, is developing an AI image generator for this feature. Users will need to upload their photos, which Meta AI will analyze to create custom stickers.

How It Works

Users can upload selfies in the WhatsApp Beta for Android (version 2.24.14.7). Meta AI will then use these to generate personalized stickers. Users can also type “@Meta AI imagine me” in chats to get AI-generated images in different backgrounds, like forests or space.

Public Release Coming Soon

This feature isn’t available to everyone yet, but it’s starting to roll out in the U.S. and India. Users can look for a new blue icon on the main chat screen to see if they have access.

Data Privacy and Control

Users have full control over their photos. They must enable the feature and upload their photos, which can be deleted at any time.

More AI Features for WhatsApp

Meta is also working on other AI features, such as letting users choose between different AI models for chat interactions.

Similar Features from Apple and Google

Apple and Google are also working on similar features. Apple has the Image Playground and Gemmoji for creating custom images and emojis in iMessage. Google is developing an app called Creative Assistant for generating custom stickers, expected to launch with the Pixel 9 series.
