Many of the new features that WhatsApp is testing will never be released. Although this isn’t the case with today’s updates, for some WhatsApp users, it’s taking much longer than usual to make them widely available.
WhatsApp rolled out the capability for 30-second voice recordings earlier this year, even though testing for longer voice messages in status updates began a few years ago.
The people at WABetaInfo discovered over the weekend that this particular feature has been enhanced even further to enable the sharing of one-minute voice messages in status updates.
Naturally, recording a one-minute voice message is not required to distribute it via status updates; this is simply the longest message length that WhatsApp currently allows. Notably, WhatsApp for iOS and Android is starting to support the enhanced feature. However, you will need to manually download the update from the Google Play Store or App Store.
Besides, it appears to be that this is an eliminated roll, so not every person might get the update simultaneously. Kindly be patient if you haven’t seen this in your app yet; it ordinarily requires half a month for these moves up to be completely carried out.
