WhatsApp is now working to implement a revised emoji reaction panel, improving the user’s engagement experience in chats, groups, and channels. This update is already available for beta testers, who now have the option of an easier and more organized layout.
As reported by WABetaInfo, beta testers are already enjoying this additional feature through the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.6.15 update published in Google Play. The layout of the application is adjusted to show emoji reactions in a simpler and user-friendly way, allowing for smooth navigation and better user experience.
In the past, emoji reactions were stored in a single vertical scrolling list, which was not only tedious, but also very impractical in the channels that get a high volume of reactions. For this update, WhatsApp added a compact design implemented that displays four reactions per row. This modifier drastically decreases scrolling distance and improves the ease of browsing through reactions.

For chats and groups, the vertical list format will still be retained, ensuring that users can see the names of contacts who reacted to messages. However, WhatsApp has introduced a sleek new tab design at the top, giving the interface a modern and polished appearance.
The update also distinguishes how reactions are displayed across different sections of the app. In channels, where follower identities remain private unless they are saved in a user’s contact list, reactions will now be showcased in a grid layout for better visibility.
Conversely, WhatsApp will still keep vertical listing in its private chats and group discussions as it enhances the software for better functionality and usability.
WhatsApp plans on adding more users in the coming weeks and will be doing so with this improved emoji reply panel designed to offer a more interactive and aesthetically pleasing interface when compared to the previous version.
